seven eleven

Something I just recently discovered but find very amusing is this: At every 7-11 (or at least every one that I've been to recently), at the door, there is a ruler. That is, markings for height, so that apparently it's easier for the cashier to call in to the police with useful information about assailants/thieves. Look for it, seriously. They're always there.

There's a bunch in Chicago, just not in Hyde Park. I went to dinner with my sister when she was here up near the Grand redline stop, and there's one I think a block or two straight south on state maybe? In any case, around here, it's one of the few places I can buy ginger altoids.
